Infrared Sauna

Discover the power of infrared saunas and experience the tremendous benefits they can offer to your overall wellness. With their use of infrared light to promote healing, infrared saunas provide an intense sweat while using lower temperatures, allowing you to stay in the sauna longer. This makes them a great choice for massage spas offering therapy or day spa treatments that cater to your every need.

The therapeutic effects of infrared waves have long been documented for pain relief, stress reduction, relaxation and detoxification. It works by exciting the water molecules in your body, promoting higher energy levels and triggering sweat at lower temperatures than normal sauna treatments. This deep penetrating heat opens up the pores of your skin and helps rid your body of impurities such as heavy metals and toxins from daily life which results in a healthier you!

These amazing benefits are not limited to physical health – infrared saunas can also help improve mental clarity and emotional balance by reducing anxiety, improving moods, restoring healthy endorphins (happy hormones) and providing an overall sense of psychological well-being.

New to infrared saunas? Here are some common questions.

How does infrared sauna differ from traditional saunas?

In terms of heat production, infrared saunas and traditional steam saunas have a key distinction. Infrared saunas utilise infrared light to directly warm the body, while traditional steam saunas generate heat by warming the surrounding air. This distinction leads to unique experiences, with infrared saunas usually operating at lower temperatures and delivering a less humid, more comfortable environment compared to steam saunas.

What Are the Health Benefits of Using an Infrared Sauna?

At Third Space, we offer a luxurious space to recharge while experiencing the numerous health benefits of using an infrared sauna. Here are some of the benefits that our customers can enjoy:

  1. Improved Cardiovascular Function
Infrared saunas can provide similar cardiovascular benefits to exercise. The gentle infrared heat increases heart rate and dilates blood vessels,
enhancing circulation and potentially reducing blood pressure.
  2. Effective Pain Relief
For individuals experiencing muscle aches or joint pain, our infrared saunas can provide significant relief. The deep heat produced by our saunas
helps alleviate tension, relax muscles, and potentially reduce pain and inflammation.
  3. Weight Loss and Increased Metabolism Support
Regular use of our infrared saunas may support weight loss and increase metabolism. As your body works to cool itself down, it expends energy,
ultimately burning calories and assisting in weight management.
  4. Effective Detoxification
Infrared saunas help facilitate the elimination of toxins from the body through substantial sweating—a primary method of detoxification. By promoting sweat, our saunas aid in ridding harmful substances from your system.
  5. Enhanced Skin Health
Experience improved skin health with our infrared saunas. By increasing circulation and promoting sweat, our saunas can help clear out pores and give your skin that healthy glow we all desire.
  6. Stress and Fatigue Reduction
In today’s fast-paced world, stress and fatigue are common. The warmth of our saunas can alleviate tension in your muscles, promote relaxation, and effectively reduce stress and fatigue.

What is Chromotherapy?

Our Sunlight sauna also comes with the additional benefits of light therapy or otherwise known as chromotherapy.
Chromotherapy is a complementary treatment that uses specifically coloured light to regulate the body’s neurohormones. By doing this, it aims to restore balance in the brain and can affect physiological, biological, and biochemical functions. Chromotherapy can physically be used to improve skin health, such as fighting acne-causing bacteria and redness in the skin, and reducing the visible signs of ageing.

Some of the commonly used colours include:
Red is known to stimulate and energise, helping with conditions such as fatigue, depression, and low blood pressure.
Orange light can have a warming and uplifting effect, helping to reduce muscle tension and boost immunity.
Yellow is linked to mental clarity and focus, aiding concentration while alleviating symptoms of depression and SAD.
Green helps to reduce stress and promote emotional well-being, while blue can lower blood pressure, ease muscle tension, and aid insomnia.
Indigo light can be used for deep relaxation, meditation, or the treatment of sleep disorders or mental health issues.
Violet is connected to spiritual growth and self-awareness; it can help with emotional healing and personal transformation

How often can you use an Infrared Sauna?

At Third Space, we aim to provide you with all the necessary information to optimise your sauna experience. It is crucial to customise your usage based on personal health and lifestyle factors. Generally, we recommend only using our infrared sauna a maximum of 3 to 4 times a week, which may help with optimal wellness benefits while ensuring safety.
To get started, we suggest beginning with shorter sessions and gradually increasing the duration as your body becomes accustomed to the heat.

Remember to stay adequately hydrated before, during, and after each session, as water intake is vital to maintaining wellness. However, it is essential to listen to your body and not overexert yourself. Each individual is unique, so if you start to feel lightheaded, dizzy, or uncomfortably hot, it’s best to exit the sauna promptly

What Are the Differences Between Near-Infrared, Mid-Infrared, and Far-Infrared waves in the Saunas?

Near-infrared, Mid-Infrared, and Far-Infrared saunas offer distinct health benefits due to their unique properties. Here is a breakdown of their characteristics:
Near-Infrared (NIR)
NIR light has the shortest wavelength among infrared saunas, allowing it to penetrate the skin’s surface.

Mid-Infrared (MIR)
MIR wavelengths have the ability to penetrate deep into the body’s soft tissue, specifically targeting areas where inflammation may occur.

Far-Infrared (FIR)
The longest wavelengths, FIR, can penetrate the deepest into the body. FIR saunas are renowned for their ability to facilitate body detoxification by
stimulating sweat glands, resulting in a deep, detoxifying sweat that effectively eliminates toxins
